This project began with the goal of 3D scanning my body in order to 3D print and cast a large physical self-portrait sculpture.  I used the Revopoint 3D scanner to generate detailed scans of various body parts and then used Zbrush to blend the parts together and clean up the model.  I sculpted the hair using gravity sketch in VR.
After sculpting the body, I created a 3D scene in Blender that evoked the serene mood I was intending to communicate with the pose of the sculpture.  The hand gestures are traditional Buddhist mudras which represent the concepts of being fearless as well as seeking wisdom.
